Our Services
At WillowSage Counseling, we want therapy to be as easy and comfortable as possible. That’s why we currently offer telehealth sessions only, so you can connect from the comfort of your own home. If staying cozied up on your couch while working through the hard stuff sounds right for you, reach out today to get started.
We offer individual psychotherapy for adults in Michigan and California. These one-on-one sessions are designed to help you explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences in a safe and supportive space. Most people start with weekly sessions and then move to bi-weekly as needed. Each session lasts about 45 to 52 minutes and is tailored to your specific needs.
All sessions are provided through a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform to protect your privacy and confidentiality every step of the way.
Where Psychology Meets Spirituality
I understand that everyone’s healing journey is personal and unique. That’s why I blend traditional therapy with holistic and spiritual practices to create a healing experience that feels right for you.
My approach is all about meeting you where you are—creating space to heal, grow, and rediscover yourself. Together, we’ll work on letting go of what no longer serves you and building a life that feels more aligned, authentic, and fulfilling.
These practices are meant to help you connect more deeply with yourself—mind, body, and spirit. And don’t worry, the holistic and spiritual pieces are always optional. We’ll only use them if they feel right for you, and they’ll always be combined with traditional therapy, never used on their own.
Below, you’ll find some of the practices available at WillowSage. If something you have in mind isn’t listed, please reach out so we can discuss other offerings and discover what feels right for your healing journey.

Intuitive Development and the 4 Clairs
Intuitive development is the process of learning to trust and strengthen your natural inner guidance. Everyone has intuition, it’s that quiet knowing or gut feeling that helps guide decisions and connect with deeper awareness.
The Four Clairs are common ways people experience intuition:
Clairvoyance: clear seeing (inner visions or mental images)
Clairaudience: clear hearing (inner words or sounds)
Clairsentience: clear feeling (sensing emotions or energy)
Claircognizance: clear knowing (a sudden inner knowing without logical reason)
Developing intuition can help you become more aware, centered, and confident in your choices.

Reiki
Reiki is a gentle energy healing practice that supports relaxation, emotional release, and inner balance. The word “Reiki” means “universal life energy.” During Reiki, energy is channeled through the hands to encourage harmony in the mind, body, and spirit. It can help reduce stress, promote peace, and support your body’s natural ability to heal.

Tarot and Oracle Cards
Tarot and oracle cards are reflective tools that help you explore your emotions, thoughts, and life patterns. They don’t tell the future—they invite you to see situations from a new perspective and connect with your inner wisdom. In a therapeutic or spiritual setting, they can help guide self-reflection and awareness.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT/Tapping)
EFT, or tapping, is a mind-body technique that helps reduce stress and calm the nervous system. It combines gentle tapping on specific points on the body (similar to acupuncture points) while focusing on emotions or memories. This can help release emotional blocks and promote a sense of balance and relief.

Crystals
Crystals are natural stones believed to hold energy that can help balance emotions and support healing. Each crystal has its own unique vibration and purpose—for example, amethyst is often used for calm and clarity, while rose quartz supports love and compassion. In session or ritual, crystals may be used for grounding, focus, or intention setting.

Rituals and Intention Setting
Rituals are simple but meaningful actions that create a sense of purpose and connection. They help mark important moments, encourage healing, and invite personal growth and transformation. Intention setting is the practice of clearly stating what you want to create, change, or release in your life. Together, rituals and intentions help align your thoughts, emotions, and actions with your deeper goals and values, guiding you toward a more balanced and authentic life.
Creating Space for Supportive, Affordable Healing
At WillowSage Counseling, I believe therapy should be accessible, transparent, and tailored to your needs. Below you’ll find information about session costs, insurance options, and reduced-fee programs to help you make the best decision for your care. If you have any questions, I’m happy to help you explore your options.
Insurance
I am in-network with most Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) of Michigan plans. I’m also in the process of joining additional insurance networks, so coverage options may expand soon.
Because insurance participation can vary, I encourage you to reach out or check back to see if I’m now in-network with your specific plan. You can also contact your insurance provider directly to verify your mental health coverage and network status.
If you have a different insurance provider and I’m not in-network, you’ll be considered out-of-network. In that case, I can provide a Superbill, which is a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
Because each plan is different, I encourage you to contact your insurance company and ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits. Below, you’ll find a downloadable PDF with helpful questions to guide your conversation with your insurance company.
Please note that if you choose to use out-of-network benefits, you will be responsible for paying the full session fee at the time of service. If you are eligible, your insurance company may reimburse you directly once they have processed your claim.
If you have any questions about out-of-network billing or how to request reimbursement, I’m happy to help you understand the process.
You can download the Understanding Your Out-of-Network Benefits handout here (PDF – Printable Checklist) to help you feel more informed and empowered when talking with your insurance provider about your out-of-network mental health coverage.
Private Pay
If you choose to pay privately, there is no insurance involvement, and payment is handled directly for a smooth, hassle-free process.
The initial intake session (your first appointment) is $200.
Each ongoing therapy session is $180 for 45–52 minutes.
Reduced Fee Options
At WillowSage Counseling, I believe financial barriers shouldn’t prevent anyone from receiving quality care. For that reason, I offer a limited number of reduced-fee and Open Path Collective spots to help make therapy more accessible.
A few options are available depending on your needs and eligibility:
Internal Reduced Fee Program – Sessions are available for $140 per session for a limited number of clients who qualify based on income or financial hardship.
Sliding Scale through Open Path Collective – Sessions range from $40–$70 per session. The biopsychosocial (intake) assessment for new clients through Open Path is $70. Membership with Open Path is required to participate, and you can learn more or apply at openpathcollective.org.
Eligibility for reduced-fee programs is based on household income and current financial circumstances. Documentation or verification will be requested during the application process to ensure these spots are available to those who need them most.
Reduced-fee and Open Path spots are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on current availability.
Just A Few More Things
The total cost of therapy depends on whether you use insurance or pay privately. Before scheduling your first session, please check with your insurance company to confirm:
Whether I’m considered in-network or out-of-network
Your deductible, copay, or coinsurance amounts
Having this information ahead of time helps avoid billing surprises and ensures a smooth start to your care.
In accordance with the No Surprises Act, all private-pay clients are provided with a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) before starting therapy. This document outlines the expected cost of services and supports transparency in your care.
You can learn more about your rights and the Good Faith Estimate process here.
Therapy is an investment in your healing and personal growth, and it’s important that it feels both accessible and clear. My goal is to make the financial side of care as transparent as possible, so you can focus on what truly matters—your healing, growth, and sense of balance.
If you have any questions about fees, reduced-fee options or eligibility, insurance, or which option may be best for you, I’m happy to help.
