Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. What you share in therapy is private and held in confidence. I will not share your information with anyone unless you give me written permission to do so.
There are a few rare situations where I am legally or ethically required to share information in order to protect you or others from harm. These include:
Suspected abuse or neglect: If I have reason to believe that a child, elder, or dependent adult is being abused or neglected, I am required by law to report it to the appropriate authorities.
Risk of serious self-harm: If you are in immediate danger of seriously hurting yourself, I may take steps to help keep you safe. This could involve contacting emergency services or someone who can provide support.
Threat of serious harm to others: If you make a clear and immediate threat to harm someone, I am legally required to warn the person in danger and notify law enforcement.
These exceptions exist to ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved. Outside of these circumstances, everything we discuss in therapy remains private and protected.

Telehealth allows you to meet with your therapist through a secure video platform instead of coming into the office. It offers the same level of privacy and care as in-person sessions, just from the comfort of your own space.
To have a successful telehealth session, you’ll need:
A quiet, private space where you can speak freely without interruptions or distractions.
A reliable internet connection or strong cellular signal.
A device with a camera and microphone, such as a smartphone, tablet, or computer.
If possible, headphones or earbuds to help with sound quality and privacy.
Before your first telehealth session, you’ll receive a secure link to join. Simply click the link at your appointment time to begin.

I offer a free 15-minute consultation so you can ask questions, share what you’re looking for, and see if we feel like a good fit. This short phone or video call gives you a chance to learn more about the process and decide if starting therapy feels right for you—there’s no pressure or commitment.
If you choose to move forward, we’ll schedule your first full therapy session, which lasts about 45–52 minutes. Most clients begin with weekly sessions and shift to bi-weekly as they progress.
You can schedule your free consultation through the website or by calling or emailing me directly.

Every therapy session looks a little different because it’s designed just for you. You can expect a safe, judgment-free space where you can share at your own pace, receive guidance and support, and learn practical tools to manage emotions and create change.
Sessions typically last 45–52 minutes, with most clients beginning weekly and shifting to bi-weekly as progress continues.

The length of therapy varies for each person—some focus on short-term goals, while others choose longer-term work for deeper healing and personal growth. Therapy is a space for healing, reflection, and reconnecting with your most authentic self.

Trauma can come from any experience or event—something you lived through or witnessed—that left you feeling scared, hurt, or changed. It can shape how you see yourself, trust others, or view the world, and may continue to show up in your life in painful ways.
Working through trauma means gently exploring those experiences in a safe, supportive space and understanding how they’ve affected your life, relationships, and sense of self. It’s not about reliving the past—it’s about learning to feel grounded, safe, and in control again.
In therapy, we move at your pace. Together, we focus on calming your body and mind, building self-compassion, and creating space for healing and growth. Over time, the memories may still exist, but they no longer define how you feel or who you believe you are.
-
It’s normal to feel unsure about starting therapy. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can talk about what you’re looking for and see if we’re a good fit. You can schedule your consultation through the website or by calling or emailing me directly. If it turns out your needs are better met elsewhere, I’m happy to help connect you with other resources that may better support you.

I welcome and respect clients from all faiths, spiritual paths, and belief systems. My approach is holistic, honoring the connection between mind, body, and spirit.
While I’m not an exclusively Christian counselor, I value spirituality as an important part of healing and personal growth. If faith or spiritual practice is meaningful to you, we can thoughtfully include it in your sessions in a way that aligns with your beliefs and supports your journey toward wholeness.
